Hillsborough “When Will Dad Be Home?” One Boy’s Story of a Tragedy

Starts - January 26, 2024 7:00 pm
Finishes - January 26, 2024 9:00 pm

Join us for a very special talk by Liverpool born writer and teacher, Shaun Millea.

Millea started his journey to have the Hillsborough tragedy taught in schools in 2019 with the release of his children’s book: ‘Hillsborough “When Will Dad Be Home?” One Boy’s story of a tragedy’.

In Liverpool we talk about it, we tell our children, we keep it alive so that it never happens to anyone ever again. Outside of the city, Hillsborough can mean nothing to many, especially the young.

So, Millea has decided to tell the story of Hillsborough in the form of a children’s book, in the hope that others understand what this city went through and why we won’t let it go or forget! It’s not based on real characters, but it is based on very real events that changed the face of football, the establishment, the city, its people and the families of the 96 who went to the match and never came home.

As part of the evening, you will also have the option to enjoy a serving of our homemade, hearty scouse choose from tenderly slow cooked beef and vegetable Scouse or blind scouse (vegetarian/ vegan option)

Choose between three ticket options:

  1. £8 Ticket (includes book)
