Join us in this fun, creative and hands-on, family LEGO stop-motion workshop by Mako Create – the perfect introduction to the world of stop-motion animation! You will learn to combine storytelling and technology to bring LEGO characters to life in your own short film!
In this workshop, you’ll get hands-on with LEGO and learn how to plan, build, shoot, and edit your own stop-motion movies. Your finished film will be published on YouTube so you can watch it at home and share it with friends and family.
What you’ll do:
- Build an animation set using LEGO.
- Learn how to animate using stop-motion techniques.
- Create your own LEGO Animation.
- Watch your finished masterpiece back.
What you’ll receive at the session?
- Your finished animation is uploaded to YouTube.
- A Mako Create certificate for taking part.
- A Mako Create animation pin badge.
Who can get involved?
This workshop is designed to teach families (one adult & one young person) the basics of stop-motion animation. As a guide, we suggest an age of 6+ for the young person. Younger children may take part but they might need a bit of extra support from their accompanying parent/guardian throughout the session.
**Tickets for this event admit one child and one parent/guardian only. Every child must be accompanied by an adult.**
Equipment needed:
All equipment will be provided on the day, you just need to bring yourself and some creativity. We will provide all the LEGO you need to take part in the session, but feel free to bring along your favourite LEGO from home if you prefer.
