Join us in this fun, hands-on, family Retro Video Game Design workshop by Mako Create – the perfect introduction to game design using Bloxels software on iPads! You will learn how to design and animate your hero and the levels of your game. Your finished game will be published online so you can play it at home. So, why not challenge family and friends to beat your score?

What you’ll do:

• • Create pixel art characters and bring them to life with animation.
  • Design your world: Craft amazing environments.
  • Playtest your game and unleash the fun!
  • Let the world play: Go live and publish your awesome game.

What you’ll receive at the session?

• Your game is published online – who will you challenge to beat your score?
• A Mako Create certificate for taking part.
• A Mako Create game design pin badge.

Who can get involved?

This workshop is designed to teach families (one adult & one young person) the basics of designing your own retro video game. As a guide, we suggest an age of 6+ for the young person. Younger children may take part but they might need a bit of extra support from their accompanying parent/guardian throughout the session.

**Tickets for this event admit one child and one parent/guardian only. Every child must be accompanied by an adult.**

Equipment needed:

All equipment will be provided on the day, you just need to bring yourself and some creativity.
