Advent Day 7 – Christopher Walster

Christopher Walster popped in and chatted about how he loves this magical time of the year. It was so lovely to find out more about the face behind these beautiful black and white skyline illustrations.

What's your favourite thing about the festive season?

I absolutely love it went it's all cold and (if lucky) snowing, all the lights sparkling and twinkling and the air of magic is around us.

Plus it's the only time as a maker/small business you don't feel guilty to have time off, spend time with the family, eat loads and watch lots of good TV.

Name one thing that you'd encourage others to do over this festive season.

Take a break and make the most of it. As a small business or anyone actually, it's so important to enjoy yourself and recharge those batteries! The year has been stressful, so put your feet up.

What does MerseyMade mean to you?

A high quality mix of local makers under one roof. It's a warm, friendly and welcoming place which offers an amazing platform for small makers to sell their goods! Also it has amazing coffee and cake, and you can watch artists in their studio's spaces which is a great insight to behind the scenes.

How do you express your creative side?

I'm always thinking of what to draw next and ask people for what they would like to see me do at my in person markets. I plan day trips for my photoshoots and think of what landmarks should feature in the skyline.

If not drawing and a bit of photography, I do like to garden.

What's the best present you've ever given and why?

I think it would have to be taking my partner Tom to Paris a few years ago. He used to work in Disneyland there so it was amazing to see where he used to work and explore the city and also the classic Disney adventures too!

He loved it and it also meant I got a holiday out of it too! Haha
