Sammy, MerseyMade's very own elf, has been full of Christmas cheer this festive period! And with a newcomer to the best present story this advent has to offer, Sammy's definitely made us smile.
What's your favourite thing about the festive season?
If I'm being cheesy, it's definitely getting together with family that's my favourite thing.
If I'm being honest, it's the cheese board.
Name one thing you'd encourage others to do over this festive season.
Be grateful for the time you can spend with your family. With life being so crazy, especially right now, it's really important to look around you and realise how lucky you are to be surrounded by loved ones.
Even if this Christmas it's a virtual hug you're giving to loved ones.
What's the best present you've ever given and why?
I rarely buy for the sake of it. I'll pick up small gifts that mean something, pull on a story or a childhood memory. It's a way of showing someone you know them, they don't care about the quantity.
One of my favourite presents was the chess set I got for my dad. He used to play when he was younger, so I bought him one and he taught me to play. We play together a lot now. It was almost a present for the pair of us rather than just him.
How do you express your creative side?
I like to draw but I don't really have a style. I like not having found it just yet, it's fun experimenting and taking inspiration. I know my style will evolve naturally and I'll look back on these processes and see where I got each element from.
That's the cool thing about creating, It's an ongoing process that grows alongside you.
What does MerseyMade mean to you?
MerseyMade has shown me that creating an accepting and welcoming environment is easy if you have amazing people on your side.
We're really lucky to have the people we do.
To be surrounded by creative people, entrepreneurs, especially female visionaries. It's inspiring! They're inspiring.
