Guitars, inky blue skies and cinnamon are just a few of Sophie’s favourite things around the festive period.
A very Sophie Green selection of things, indeed.
I love the crisp weather, the walks, the autumnal leaves, the evening skies with their amazing inky blue colours. The Christmas markets and the mulled wines. And the food, I can’t forget the food. It’s all stodgy and sweet, I’m a big fan of ginger and cinnamon too, so that helps.
I think that because the days are so short, you make the most of a good day.
Take a bit of time out for yourself. Everyone gets very busy and stressed, especially freelancers and creatives, we have our foot to the floor.
So, when Christmas hits, just take a bit of time out. Be with your friends, your chosen family, those you love.
It’s my second home, my home in the city. It’s the place I come to relax, create and meet with friends. A social space and a workspace. It’s just a really good blend of people whom I like very much.
It’s just in my bones. I’m quite a creative person.
But you can’t beat hanging out with other creative people, creative minds and just being at the heart of Liverpool. The city is a cultural hub and I create in a place that embodies that. It inspires and pushes me to achieve more. I couldn’t imagine a world without creativity.
I asked my wife and she said my love was the best gift I’ve given her, but I think she was just being nice. In terms of tangible gifts, I’m not too sure. I know the best gifts I’ve been given usually involve travelling. Embracing culture and finding inspiration in new spaces. And a guitar my wife bought me, that was a brilliant gift. I can barely play it, but I love it. I used to have a guitar, so to have one back in my life, especially one so beautiful, was a really lovely thing.
