Resetting after the busiest period of the year for Sketchbook looks like cold walks on the beach, relaxing in front of the telly watching Christmas films and baking bread.
How gorgeous does that sound!
What's your favourite thing about the festive season?
I’m originally from Sunderland so I love heading up there at Christmas, spending time with family and friends and going for walks along the beach when the weather is cold and the sea is rough. The festive season always comes at the end of my busiest period work-wise so taking time to relax and switch off for a week or two is a welcome relief.
Name one thing that you'd encourage others to do over this festive season.
Sometimes Christmas can end up being such a busy time of year, often you end up rushing around trying to see as many people as possible. I would really encourage people to take some time to just relax and enjoy some Christmas films.
What does MerseyMade mean to you?
MerseyMade gives me the opportunity to be part of an exciting creative community in Liverpool. I love to have my work in a store and community which is solely about championing independent artists, creatives and makers.
How do you express your creative side?
When I'm not creating my typography and illustration artwork I really enjoy baking bread. Yes, I've turned into a lockdown cliché! I really enjoy experimenting and tweaking the recipes to try and produce the perfect loaf... it’s still a work in progress.
What's the best gift you've ever given and why?
The best gift I've given was a photo album that I created for my partner, Louise. The photo album has a small selection of photos from each of our travels together. In the age of social media, we’d really stopped printing actual photos so I wanted to start a photo album that we could add to throughout the rest of our lives. It was so nice to sit and look through all of the photos and reminisce... although this was in the middle of covid so it did make us a bit depressed about not being able to travel at the time!
