This week in our artist spotlight series we are are celebrating the incredibly talented ceramic artist, Jackie Noy.
In her own words…
“ I am Jackie Noy and Hilton Farm Ceramics. The Hilton Farm Ceramic studio is located in the village of Aspull on the outskirts of Wigan, nestled next to the woods in a beautiful setting of our 1730 farmhouse.
I have always had a passion for the arts, beginning my journey at Wrexham College of Art and Design and moving on to graduate with a Degree in Textile Design and an MSC in Textile Technology in 1994. The same year I married my husband, Mark. After graduating my first job was for Dorma, as a creative colourist. In 1998 I had my first child, Charlotte, then two years later Jake arrived. My interest for ceramics evolved during the children’s early years. I enrolled on a ceramic course, encouraged by one of my closest friends, Joy, who looked after Jake while I was on the course. When Jake started primary school, I did too! I became a teacher’s assistant, working at the same school that the children attended.
In 2010, Hilton Farm Ceramics was born. After many years of craft fairs and workshops in Create Bolton, I decided to step out of my comfort zone. At the beginning of 2019, I was lucky enough to have my dream studio built and now I feel the skies the limit. I am excited to run workshops in a picture perfect setting.”
We are so lucky to showcase Hilton Farm Ceramic’s quirky designs both in our online shop and in-store; Jackie never makes the same design twice so they are truly one-off and unique pieces made with love.
