Artist Spotlight – Tina Leahey

Tina Leahey is a textile-artist who's designs are deeply rooted in her fierce pride for the city of Liverpool. The City’s iconic buildings with their architectural charm, historical significance and memorable landmarks are key elements of inspiration for her stunning pieces. ⁣⁣

Tina’s creative process is fascinating; firstly she hand illustrates iconic buildings such as the Liver Building or St George’s Hall. Tina then uses free motion embroidery to work into her illustrations as it allows her have total control over the stitch direction, the rhythm between the needle speed and fabric motion.

Her unique process results in unique illustrations but with a lovely textured feel. ⁣⁣
